We've just released an updated version of Thrive Leads update to go along with it). The update includes a series of improvements and additions to our flagship lead-generation plugin.

In Thrive Leads, the so called Leads Group contain all the opt-in form types that you can display on your site automatically, based on specific rules (e.g. slide-in forms, lightbox forms, ribbons etc.).
In the latest version, you can now also automatically insert opt-in forms inside your content, without having to manually edit each post or page:

In the settings for the in content form type, you can determine the number of paragraphs after which you want the form to be automatically injected into your posts or pages. Just like any other form type in a lead group, you can precisely target which forms show where, based on categories, tags and more.
Thrive Leads is already built with your website's performance in mind and this latest addition adds a further speed factor. In the main dashboard, you'll find this new option in the top right corner:.
Turn the feature on and all Thrive Leads forms will load asynchronously. That means the loading of your form doesn't impact your site speed at all, as the form is loaded "in the background" and only once your page has finished loading.
Since most forms don't display immediately to the visitor anyway, there's no real drawback to lazy loading your forms. It's also worth noting that we do indeed load forms before they are displayed. This way, when a form is triggered, it is ready to appear right away and there's no additional delay. This is especially important for the exit-intent trigger.
Another advantage of the lazy loading feature is that it's an effective workaround for problems caused by caching plugins. Unfortunately, many WordPress caching plugins have a rather unsophisticated approach and don't handle dynamic content correctly. This causes a conflict with forms that are in an A/B test.
If you were experiencing a conflict with your A/B test data caused by a caching plugin, switching on the lazy load feature will fix the issue.
The ribbon form type is eye-catching but uses very little screen real-estate. This has made ribbons a popular option with our users. In the latest version of the plugin, you'll find a new option in the ribbon settings:
The option does exactly what you'd expect: you can now display ribbon forms at the bottom of the screen as well!
Have you ever wanted to make some design changes to an existing form, but faced a problem because the form was already showing on your site? You want to make some changes, but you don't want your visitors to see a half-finished form while you're editing and saving your progress.
We've added a simple solution to this problem:
Within any lead group, you can now simply flip a switch to hide a form. This is perfect for temporary editing of a form or for retiring a form type that isn't performing well.
This addition just removes a small inconvenience we had in the user interface. Before, when you had a test running, there was no way to view your previously completed tests.
Now, you can simply go to the A/B test report and you'll find your archived tests listed below.
Advanced users may want to send dynamic variables to their autoresponder. Here are some example use cases of this:
We've now added shortcode support so that if you add a shortcode to your autoresponder code then it will be processed and the output will be inserted.
Secondly, we've added a new filter called "tve_additional_fields". Developers can hook into this filter in order to add any custom code immediately before the </form> tag of the autoresponder code.
In order to make this as easy as possible for anyone wishing to implement this, we've added a new knowledge base article (complete with examples) and have an example plugin that you can use to help you get up and running on GitHub.
A small detail, but one that we received a few requests for: you can now easily rename your lead groups so that as campaigns develop you can keep your naming up-to-date.

When you update Thrive Content Builder and Thrive Leads to the latest version, you'll see a new way to integrate with your favorite online marketing services in the "API Connections" feature.
Up until now, you could connect to autoresponder services by pasting the HTML code of signup forms generated within those services. That's still possible, but we've now also added the option to connect via API, to these services (click the links to see the setup tutorials):
Plus, with the API connection, we've been able to new services and options that weren't accessible through the HTML form method:
For most autoresponders and email marketing services, the HTML form method of integration worked without issues (and still does), so why did we add these API connections?
There are a few advantages, some of which will become clear with future feature releases. One advantage is, of course, that the feature enables connections to new services like GoToWebinar and MailPoet.
In the case of GoToWebinar, you'll usually want to sign up new leads to a webinar eventand a mailing list at the same time - something that can now easily be done thanks to the API feature.
In some cases, setting a custom Thank-You page to show to new leads after they sign up is quite complicated or even impossible (looking at you, MailChimp). That's where another advantage comes in: when using an API connection, you can set a custom thank you page that overrides whatever is set in your autoresponder service.
Finally, there's a convenience factor: you no longer have to find and copy HTML forms whenever you create a new opt-in form on your site. Once connected to a service, any future form integration you create are much quicker and easier and you don't have to leave your WordPress admin interface to do it.
